About us

FIVE POINTS GOLF CLUB (also known as “Five Points Golf League”) offers a fun but competitive environment for adult golfers of all skill levels and ages. Established in 1986 at the Levittown (PA) VFW near the Five Points intersection, we are one of the oldest continuously operating traveling amateur golf leagues in the Greater Philadelphia area.

Our regular season is generally (but not always) played every other weekend on a Sunday morning. Our season runs from late March/early April to late September/early October and concludes with a club championship event where that season’s club champion is crowned. The schedule does vary year-to-year based on holidays.

We play many of the best public courses in Southeastern Pennsylvania. Our schedule consists of a different public course for each event with most courses being located in Bucks County, Montgomery County, and Berks County. We do occasionally visit courses in Chester and Lehigh counties. And, once in a while, someplace in New Jersey.

We use an internal handicapping system so a USGA or GHIN membership is not required of our club members. A handicap will be established for players once they have provided scores for 5 of their most recent rounds played or they have competed in 3 league events.

The club is currently comprised of four flights based on individual player handicaps. Players can earn points at each event during the regular season. The players that have earned the most points in each flight at the end of the regular season play for the club championship. All other players also participate in the club championship event by competing for other awards.

Tee times for each scheduled event are arranged for each player and communicated usually by the Wednesday prior to each event.

While we generally follow USGA rules of golf, we have implemented some “local rules” that encourage an improved pace of play and help to make the game more enjoyable for all members.
